melahap Arsitektur Yang Lain sampai habis setengahnya sepanjang perjalanan
menatap Jakarta yang berkelebat di jendela, sepeti potongan-potongan film yang acak
berpetualang antara tumpukan buku bekas yang di mata saya seperti harta karun
bertiga menunggu kereta di stasiun tua

Life Traveler - another story about journey

finally have free time or more likely some lazy time, before the last mid exam tomorrow..

just finished another inspiring book today, Life Traveler by Windy Ariestanty. I bought this book 2 days ago, glad my reading pace is not slowing down even after months didn't read any book :p

This book talk about traveling and more about the traveler themselves. Recommended indeed.. Well, because i always love these kind of book, for many reasons..

Youtube and Yiruma

i was going to share one of my favorite piano piece but instead found out about Youtube's new layout. It has neat arrangement, love it~

back to main topic, i want to tell you about a talented pianist and his beautiful pieces.

Yiruma is one of my favorites pianist. His real name is I Ru-ma, originally a Korean but he moved to London when he was 11. He is indeed talented and i love how his songs always ctelling 'stories'..

My most favorite piece:

p.s: some people said this song featured as Bella's Lullaby on Twilight. the fact is, IT'S NOT. People should get their fact right -_-"

i also recommend May Be and Kiss the Rain. And his most popular album is First Love, it was released in 2001.

satnite and a cake

bought a cake with my own money, it feels different somehow :)

Happy 24th birthday to my sister~
wish her all the best, finish her study soon, be the real doctor, dan cepet nemu pasangan :p

anyway....yesterday we watched Arisan 2 , all thanks to Bu Ulin & Pak Ruli :)

it was good movie.. inspiring & give us so much to think.. dan satu hal: bikin pengen ke Gili Trawangan!

Gili Trawangan adalah yang terbesar dari ketiga pulau kecil atau gili yang terdapat di sebelah barat laut Lombok, memiliki panjang 3 km dan lebar 2 km. (Wikipedia)

Fasilitas di pulau ini sudah cukup memadai, dari mulai penginapan, restoran, hingga pub. Namun suasana alami di Gili Trawangan masih sangat terasa, salah satunya karena dilarangnya pemakaian kendaraan bermotor di pulau ini.

tambah satu destinasi lagi on my must-visit-list :)

Kritik Arsitektur dengan Metode Deskriptif - ArtScience Museum

-untuk memenuhi salah satu tugas Kritik Arsitektur-


Project : ArtScience Museum
Architects : Safdie Architects - Moshe Safdie
Location : Singapore
Project year : 2011

ArtScience Museum merupakan salah satu bangunan di Marina Bay Sands, sebuah kawasan terpadu di Singapura, dibuka pada tanggal 17 Februari 2011 oleh Perdana Singapura Lee Hsien Loong. Museum ini merupakan museum seni-sains pertama di dunia.

Bangunan ini terinspirasi dari bentukan bunga teratai, merupakan karya arsitek Moshe Safdie.

Disebut sebagai "The Welcoming Hand of Singapore" oleh kepala Las Vegas Sands, Sheldon Adelson, ArtScience Museum ditopang oleh dasar yang berbentuk lingkaran di tengah, dengan 10 pilar yang disebut "fingers" (jari). Konsep desain untuk setiap jari menunjukkan berbagai ruang-ruang galeri skylight di "ujung jari" yang menjadi pencahayaan yang berkelanjutan untuk dinding interior melengkung yang dramatis.

ArtScience Museum memiliki 21 ruang galeri dengan total area 6.000 meter persegi.

Air hujan dibuat dan disalurkan di tengah-tengah bangunan, yang mengalir melalui atap berbentuk mangkuk ke dalam kolam yang mereflesikan bangunan pada tingkat terendah dari bangunan. Air hujan kemudian didaur ulang untuk digunakan di toilet gedung.

Selain bangunan ini dimaksudkan untuk mendatangkan banyak pengunjung dan wisatawan asing, tetapi juga untuk membuat Singapura menjadi bagian yang diandalkan dalam dunia seni dan sains. Dengan desain yang unik dan fungsi bangunan sebagai museum untuk seni sekaligus sains, nampaknya tujuan tersebut akan dapat tercapai.

Fenomena di Indonesia, negeri dengan sejuta sumber air, salah satunya sungai, yang sayangnya tidak banyak dimanfaatkan.. Sebaliknya, sungai menjadi terlupakan, bahkan dirusak. Hal ini salah satunya disebabkan oleh kecenderungan masyarakat masa kini yang tidak menjadikan sungai sebagai potensi, contohnya membuat bangunan yang berorientasi ke sungai, malahan bangunan tersebut dibuat membelakangi sungai.

Sebenarnya hal tersebut juga salah satunya disebabkan oleh kondisi sungai yang sepertinya semakin parah dari hari ke hari. Menjadikan ini sebagai hubungan sebab akibat yang tidak jelas yang mana yang menjadi awalnya..

Chinatown, Singapore


Chinatown Singapura adalah sebuah lingkungan etnis yang menampilkan unsur budaya Cina dan populasi historis etnis Cina yang terkonsentrasi. Chinatown terletak di distrik yang lebih besar dari Outram.

Sesuai dengan namanya, di kawasan ini sangat kental dengan suasana khas pecinan dengan bangunan-bangunan yang beraksitektur Cina. Terdapat beberapa bangunan yang menjadi bangunan utama di kawasan ini, biasanya fungsinya untuk beribadah maupun tempat diadakannya acara besar.


Selain itu, Chinatown Singapura juga dikenal dengan kawasan perbelanjaan berupa koridor-koridor yang dipadati oleh pedagang, baik yang permanen maupun non-permanen. Juga dapat kita temui mayoritas orang yang ada disini ialah warga keturunan Tionghoa yang menjadikan kawasan ini sebagai pusat komunitas.

Seiring berjalannya waktu, meskipun Chinatown merupakan kawasan tua, tidak menjadikan kawasan ini menjadi terpinggirkan oleh perkembangan zaman. Kawasan Chinatown tetap bisa mempertahankan statusnya sebagai salah satu kawasan yang memiliki peran penting di Singapura. Dengan arsitektur khas pecinan yang terawat baik, memberikan nilai lebih lagi bagi Chinatown.

Namun sayangnya, tampaknya status kawasan ini yang merupakan kawasan heritage juga masih kalah dengan pamornya sebagai kawasan perbelanjaan, di antaranya penataan pedagang yang di beberapa tempat masih terlihat berantakan. Dan juga beberapa signage ataupun petunjuk arah yang terhalang oleh tenda-tenda pedagang, menjadikannya tidak terlihat dan tentu saja menjadi tidak berfungsi.


Namun kawasan Chinatown di Singapura ini tetap patut diacungi jempol, karena sebenarnya kawasan ini bisa dibilang sudah sangat terawat dan difungsikan semaksimal mungkin agar tidak terlupakan begitu saja.
Patutnya hal ini dapat dijadikan contoh untuk kawasan bersejarah lainnya...

treasure


don't give me that look -.- this is probably the first time ever i am this addicted to one singer(s). It's reasonable tho, when you addicted to one of the best group in the world (and no i'm not exaggerating) and the most inspiring one. This is what i've been collecting for past 1 and half years, i consider these all as my treasure. one of the reason is because i bought it all* with my own money.

*except the red lightstick, it's from my cousin when she back from Seoul and JYJ The Beginning album (bottom-right), it's from ka Novi :)

learning by doing

finally done making new layout for this blog.. a little crappy but still proud of myself :p
and somehow i think i need to mastering CSS and XHTML, i'm still sucks at coding (or whatever its name --") i should learn more about web designing, while keep learning about Photoshop...

to think about it, i don't have any background about web design, well maybe i had learn it in high school, but seriously, what i got? afterall i don't really have interest on it that time..

i don't know what to write now, just wanna announce, this blog officially open :D

intermezo~ quick report

hello peeps~ it's been a while or should i say, it's been a very long time?
i still can't make myself a dedicated blogger to make a routine post, and not to mention this semester has been a nightmare for us (this is my 3rd year as architecture student, fyi)
even right now i'm still doing my paper which the deadline is tomorrow...i mean this morning -_-

so practically i've been from Singapore a month ago. Nope, it's not for vacation. I'm going there with my campus, it's for study purpose. But still, we got many new knowledge and also have so much fun there..



gotta finish my paper first..
holiday is coming soon, i promise will post more! see ya

i'm quite (actually, QUITE is not a right word) busy nowadays... exam, assignment, exam, assignment, exam, assignment, and so on~

friendships beyond universe

hi peeps~
tumben ini saya lagi pengen ngeblog mulu..
and sorry for being such a bad blogger, posting kalo lagi mood aja. hahaha
~~~~~~~~
umm, seems like everybody already knows that i'm addicted to TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki... but no, i'm not going to talk about them...
gw mau cerita after-effect gw ngefans sama mereka...

baru kali ini gw bisa se-ngefans ini sama sebuah music group, sampe2 gw ikutan forumnya segala, bahkan cukup aktif di forum...
dan sejak itu juga gw jadi makin aktif di dunia maya... forum, twitter, some websites, related to TVXQ of course...
dan udah bisa ditebak, gw jadi ketemu banyak orang disana... terutama dari twitter dan forum...
Di twitter, i'm gaining lot and lot followers and more important: FRIENDS.

Jujur gw bukan orang yang gampang percaya sama orang yang gw kenal di internet, seriously, i've once decided i'll never trust anyone from cyber world. But everything change now...
Karena punya interest yg sama, gw jadi berasa ngobrol sama temen lama, dari hal gak penting, spazzing soal TVXQ, sampe ngomongin soal berita tentang TVXQ yang agak2 serius...
Gara2 TVXQ, gw bisa punya temen orang Korea, Jepang, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Cambodia, United Arab Emirates, even Mexico and Italy! Dan pastinya gw juga dapet temen orang2 Indonesia juga, dari mulai yg domisili Jabotabek, Bandung, Surabaya, dll..
Beberapa udah pernah ketemu langsung sama gw, dan ternyata they're nice. As nice as i expected from our daily conversation via twitter.
Bahkan, because of this, i involved with something BIG (sorry can't tell you the detail.. Not yet).

Dan untuk my overseas pals, sometimes they surprised me... Gimana bisa mereka sebaik itu sama seorang stranger, tanpa beda2in suku, ras, agama, dan kebangsaaan..
See? World is not that bad...
Dan enaknya, kalo nanti gw berkunjung ke negara mereka (amiiin) gw udah punya tour guide gratisan (LOL so cheap XP) bahkan beberapa dari mereka ask me to stay in their house.
Ohya, ada juga temen gw, asal Korea Selatan, yang baru gw kenal beberapa bulan, tapi dia udah nawarin buat ngirimin gw CD TVXQ, padahal gw cuma cerita kalo di Indonesia emang agak susah buat nyari CD mereka.

Ada temen gw yang pernah bilang "emangnya lo udah kenal sama mereka? tau mereka orang baik atau bukan?", NOPE, gw emang gak tau semuanya tentang mereka, but somehow i believe in them. Because they do believe in me.

Gw pernah baca sebuah buku -one of my favorite book- tentang backpacker cewek yang keliling Eropa sendirian dengan low-budget. How could she survives? Yes, with some help from friends and some new-friends. It's what they called hospitality system. Gonna show you the book later (if i remember :p)
Ya itulah kuncinya, saling percaya. Mereka juga pasti punya keraguan sama kita, apakah kita bener2 orang baik atau bukan, ya toh? It won't work until everyone could trust each other.
But still, safety came first... Bukan berarti kita bisa asal dan gak pilih2 orang juga =="

We lived in global era now... Masih mau bersikap primitif?
dan kalo gw liat, ini juga salah satu cara diplomasi yang efektif. Secara ga langsung kita udah promosiin Indonesia, bukan? ;) and yeah, it's really really help me to improve my English

thinking table (?)

i told ya, i'm back with new post :D

out of sudden, i wanna share this. Taken an hour ago, right away from my Nokia X5 (and i don't know what's wrong with my cellphone. so annoying. Fortunately it's still have guarantees).
this is it (heck.sounds like those sexy-chef-whatever), my work table. or in fact, my older sister's table, which invade by me as she move to Bandung because of her co-as job. And i guess it's officially my table now.
Not neat. Well, what do you expect from me? LOL. I rarely tidy up my table, due to my business and my laziness *get kicked*
but believe me, it's not that neat but it's WELL-ORGANIZED. You can see some box there, some pencil case, and 2 section for books. That's what i called zoning (oh, architect effect).


take a look by yourself, as you see, there's:
  • Some English contest trophy : NOT MINE. it's belong to my sister. i've never winning any trophy for myself alone (because in fact i have got group trophy 3 times)
  • photo frame : again, it's not mine -.- that's my sister and her friends from high school
  • a rabbit doll : again and again, it's my sister's. (i promise the list after this will talk about what's mine XD)
  • laptop HP : not exactly mine. i still have to share it with my younger sister. but since i use it almost 24/7, so i guess i can call it as MINE. kekekeke
  • bunch of books : 2 zones of books ---> college books (right) and miscellaneous (left). I have separate racks for novels, comics, and magazines. and yeah i love books.
  • some CDs... E-books, software CD, game installer (:p), etc..
  • 2 box : the strips one is for important things (won't tell you what's the contents) and the pink one is for random things (?).
  • there's rapido Rotring and oil painting color sneak behind laptop *i never use them again since my 1st year*
  • my NEW external harddisk. Finally i have one XD
  • post-it board : to stick some important note, to-do-list, etc etc
  • and the last, my treasures: cassette, CDs, and DVDs from TVXQ (i will make separate post to talk about it XD)
that's it... not that interesting. but somehow i love to share with everyone XD
